About

I am a painter of contemporary landscape and figurative works, using mixed media like emulsion and spray paint to engage viewers with dynamic shapes, tones, and compositions. I draw from personal and natural themes to make work that addresses our relation to surroundings, people, and ourselves.

Between works I explore memories, ideas, events in my life and those I hear about from others, and I rely upon an intuition this affords me in both the physical act of painting, and in the realisation of an end result. This process works well when I can paint outside, in bright light, as it promotes the natural development of a piece in accordance with the time of year and the course of experience.

I believe that making pictures will continue to be of importance in the present and future, as it has throughout the past. I strive to make a significant investment in that belief.
